Elyan Anderson is a European singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.
As a small child Elyan often listened to his father playing the accordion and keyboards. When he was 6 years old, he picked up a pair of knitting needles and started drumming the cushions! Astonished, his father realized his son had rhythm and quickly bought him his first drum kit. After that, Elyan began playing regularly with his father.
When Elyan heard Phil Collins’ hit ‘In The Air Tonight’ for the first time, it had a profound effect on his life. He quickly started spending most of his free time sitting at the drums, headphones on, playing along to his sisters’ records. Elyan had a dream that saw him walking through a tunnel and out on to a stage, in a huge stadium, packed with people waiting for his show to start. Elyan had found the road he wanted to be on.
Completely self-taught on drums, piano and guitar, he composed his first song at the age of 13. Knowing his true calling was in music, Elyan used his natural talents to perform gigs in bars and small concert hall, so as to finance his engineering studies.
He recorded his first album at the age of 23, and his second one at 26. On this album; all instruments were performed live by Elyan himself. During this period, along with some friends, Elyan put on Pink Floyds ‘The Wall’. He took on the role of both artistic and music director, played the drums and sang lead vocals. The show, held on June 14th 1997, at the Cluny Abbey in Burgundy, France, attracted around 4’000 spectators.
Influenced by various music styles and inspired by artists such as U2, Simple Minds, Pink Floyd and Phil Collins, Elyan’s songs are pop rock, subtle mix of sugar and salt whether he performs them in English, Spanish, Italian or his French mother tongue.
Elyan is currently recording his third album with International production team and a plethora of world-class musicians in London LA and NY studios.
