Often praised for bringing something new into the metal scene, Deus Ex Machina’s sound is hard to classify. Is this melodic death metal? Surely enough melodies are there, as well as harsh ‘deathlike’ screams. But The Swiss combo is as far as it gets from the old-school Gothenburg sound, thriving for a more modern and personal approach, fusing destructive riffs with melodic and electronic sound sampling.
Fronted by charismatic female-singer Stephany, backed by a solid musicianship, Deus Ex Machina is a must-see live. No wonder they have already been sharing the stage with acts such as Dagoba, Jinjer, Benighted and Sybreed, a.o.
Founded in 2013, the band released its first EP, “The Lament Before The Disaster” that same year.
Three years and a few line-up changes later, they hit the Ignition Prod Studio in Geneva to record their first album “A New World To Come”, mixed and mastered at Conatus Studio and released on April 2017.
