Biography
"emptY" came into being in autumn 2000 when Pilipp Urech (guitars), Patrick Musso (drums) and Mario Koller (bass) first met to play music. The first songs they wrote were between Rock and Britpop. But "emptY" never committed itself to any certain kind of music and always played mixes from Rock to Britpop, Blues to Funk. At the beginning of 2002 finally David Montoya (vocals, guitars) joined "emptY". As an experienced singer and with a different cultural background (Latin America) David helped "emptY" to broaden its musical horizon. With David writing the lyrics, "empty" developed their first songs in spanish. As original "emptY"-members Lukas Rüegg (saxophone) and Mischa Kupka (keys) left, their sound altered, and is now seen to be straight "rock n' roll". Having an extraordinary creative phase in 2004, "emptY" on the one hand kept their typical energetic, funky tunes, but managed also to sound heavier and more mature. Gaining confidence from live-shows "emptY" rightly stopped feeling as being second string and are looking forward now to rock the stages.
