Formed in 2010 in Lausanne, Switzerland, The Ghost Parade is the collaboration of songwriters brought together by a shared passion for atmospheric and ambitious rock music. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Queen, Pink Floyd, Muse and M83, the band blends progressive rock, cinematic textures and soaring melodies into a sound that is both powerful and deeply immersive.
Built around contrasts, shifting atmospheres and expansive arrangements, The Ghost Parade’s music aims to feel like a journey through dreamlike and emotional landscapes.
After years of experimentation and self-production, the band released its first homemade EP, The Brightest Sun, in 2013. Early reactions from industry professionals, including acclaimed producer David Richards, encouraged them to pursue their musical vision. The EP quickly gained attention: The Brightest Sun (Parts I & II) received airplay on several radio stations including BBC Radio, while Shades of Grey reached the top of Switzerland’s “Songs of the Week” chart. Both tracks were later featured in international film soundtracks.
Despite this promising start, the project was unexpectedly slowed down for several years by circumstances largely outside the band’s control. What began as a highly active collaboration gradually turned into a long hiatus, making the band far quieter than originally intended throughout the following years.
Rather than abandoning the project, The Ghost Parade chose to take the time to rebuild and refine its musical universe. This eventually led to the release of BEYOND, an album revisiting and expanding the band’s original work. The record features fully re-recorded versions of the five tracks from the original EP alongside new material, including the singles Summer and Colors.
Today, The Ghost Parade continues to explore a musical world filled with haunting atmospheres, lyrical melodies and carefully crafted sonic landscapes, somewhere between progressive rock, space rock and cinematic storytelling.
