Description

Magnifique Music & Entertainment is very proud to release Diamá’s first official video „La Mossa (The brush-off)”, off her upcoming debut album “We’re not done”.

Her career started back in 2004 where she participated on a Swiss-TV talent show. Then in 2006 she was part of Ralph Siegel’s Eurovision Song Contest project “Six4One”, where she represented Switzerland alongside 5 other singers, one of which was no other than Andreas Lundstedt, lead singer of the legendary Swedish Dance-Group “Alcazar”. After that experience she worked with many DJ’s and sang duets with artists like Antonino Spadaccino (“Kick it!”) known for his participation on the Italian hit-show “Amici” or legendary House-Diva Robin S., at the 2011 Zurich Pride Festival.

Diamá then took some time off to discover her own voice and what kind of music she would want to do. The result brought her back to her Italian roots. Naples served as canvas for her first album and especially for her first Single “La Mossa (The brush-off)”.

“La Mossa” was originally invented in Italy. It’s a move that women do with their hips to “vindicate” or “brush-off” an unwelcome reaction or an advance by a guy or a group of people. “La Mossa” is divided in two parts; the first is signaled by a swirling sound. There you move your hips in horizontal circles from side to side. The swirling sound ends in an explosion – that’s the moment you kick your hips out to one sides.

The song’s predominant beat remembers “I Bottari”, a traditional rhythm from south Italy that involves wine barrels, wooden drums, etc. At the same time guitars play a sweet melody that echoes Naples vivaciousness and its historic dark beauty. Jiameé, co-writer of the song, drops a few shouts on it, where Diamá, next to her brilliant vocal performance also spits a few rhymes in her Neapolitan dialect.

With “La Mossa (The Brush-Off)” Diamá delivers something completely different and fresh. The video is also an homage to one of Diamá’s biggest idols, Sophia Loren (Two Women “La Ciociara” 1960) and was shot between Italy and Switzerland.

Director and Cinematographer Serge Wohlgesinger captured the feeling of the song brilliantly, where Adriano Piccione, Choreographer, managed to translate typical Italian dance moves into today’s dance era. The video features her Diamond-Dancers Simona, Cristina, Sarah and Alejandra who add that extra portion of sexiness and strength — Patty “Lenny-Beyonce Slash” as the sweet guitar melody and “I fratelli Boom-Boom” Gaetano & Antonio who represent the thriving beat. Hair and make-up by Patrizia Giannuzzi and Lucia Casanova.

Needless to say, this is only the beginning for Diamá. Meanwhile; stay Ciociara-Chic & Tarantella-Fit. More music – very soon.
