Biography

Each song started off with the lyrics being written, standing on their own without any instrumental support. With this unusual first step, the song is built around the lyrics so they can center within a unique pop-experimental world of sounds. By connecting music and art, the songs can be experienced through at least two senses as every song belongs to an artwork which Myla Lei creates herself. As a result, all of her artwork like the single cover of “Grey Cloud” were created by her as well.
Through that multidisciplinary approach Myla Lei explores the boarders of a collective unconscious. Therefore, Myla Leis “Project 8” is all about coming together and being allowed to be different while knowing we all share similar experiences.

The single “Grey Cloud” is the first single of 8 to be released. The song roots in the corner of mental health and mental health issues and how we choose to deal and cope with them. Light and encouraging to embrace all of our self. “Grey Cloud” marks the kick off of “Project 8” which strives to build bridges from the collective unconscious to a collective consciousness.
