For three years now, SEVN o’clock meets regularly in their garage to experiment with music genres, hang out in good company and last but not least, to compose unique tracks. With Martial, his brother Cedric and their cousins Jan and Gabriele, the gun is loaded with a lot of emotions ready to express themselves in music. Hopefully it reaches somebody, who helps them, bringing out their tones and spirit to more people.
Hidden in a shortcut in old town Zermatt, the boys find shelter from the cold temperatures in a little garage, where they started composing music. Originally the old garage was used as a storage room for their grandmom’s antiques. Years after she passed, the boys recognized the rooms potential and decided to clear the garage, put sofas and a PA-System in there.
At the beginning there was not a single instrument, except grandmom’s old pump organ, which was to precious to throw away. Cedric and cousin Gabriele already played guitar at the time and occasionally brought their instruments with them. It didn’t take long for ex-drummer Jan to buy a new drum kit and set it up in the garage. The line up was standing, when singer and bass player Martial ordered the cheapest bass he could find in the internet and joined the band.
It is a magical place. Dozens of friends are coming to the room to hang out since, paint the walls and listen to their music. It is a youth oasis that nobody else has, where young people can drink, smoke and listen to music as long and loud as they want to.
The name comes from the time they meet. Usually at 7 pm. after work, they join together and play. Also, the room has no windows, so you easily loose track of time and it always feels like SEVN o’clock in there.
This went on for 2 years and music took over every members life. Then, brothers Cedric and Martial decided moving to London and visit a music college for British and Irish Modern Music Performance. After one year leaving the others behind, they came back to the roots and started where they stopped. It didn’t take long for them to have a 60 minutes set ready and play several shows during the summer. SEVN o’clock invested in a bigger PA-System and all the live gear they needed for the independent shows in the area.
Check out the tracks! It's the classics they usually warm up with and were easiest to record.
