Faces appear in the shadows and fade away
A beauty steps out of a doorway
Catches a Strangers eye
A short sweet conversation
She says ‘come back another day’
Another day I walk down to the station
And see that billboard sign
A half-stripped chick says ‘drink this stuff and you’ll be happy’
Near the subway shop John Wayne rides his horse in overtime
He says ‘smoke this stuff and you’ll be free’
They don’t know they’re on Easy Street
You can take a chance and have some fun today
Take a walk down on Easy Street
Where many souls have gone and lost their way

Well you better walk away or you will stay
So I make my way past the billboard signs to a clothing store
A man holds a sign and says ‘I sell salvation’
If you lost your faith take the stairway to the second floor
And I ‘ll show you what my god can do for you’
