Five years after their chart successes from the albums “Rewind Please” and “Betty’s Garden” and two years after their fourth studio album “All In”, Michèle Anne Bachmann, the charismatic singer and songwriter of the Swiss band Anshelle, is now taking us into the land of sensitive stories.
The radio single “Already Gone” of the upcoming album “Blink of an Eye” is about the feeling of letting go and the newly gained freedom after a failed love relationship. Michèle seems to get straight to the point with the first song of the forthcoming album already. Once again she goes be- yond the comfort zone and sings straightforwardly about the things in life which affect her and the people around her.
Not only are the lyrics of “Already Gone” exceptional, but also the story how it was written: With a demo version of “Already Gone”, Michèle Anne Bachmann and her life partner Phil Küffer (with whom she forms the songwriter duo “DICK&klein”) traveled to Los Angeles in order to present the song to musicians who might be interested in it.
After Michèle and Phil had finished the song with the support of the songwriters Nate und Kaelie Highfield, they presented it to the well-known producer Rob Chiarelli, who had already produced songs for Will Smith, Christina Aguiliera or LeAnn Rimes, and mixed Anshelle’s last album. As it turned out, his response should once again lead the future of the song towards a new direction: Rob suggested that they should record “Already Gone” on the following day in his studio, either for the band Anshelle or for a famous star in the USA.
The two Swiss songwriters decided against both of these options in order to finish the production at home with Anshelle. After producer Sky van Hoff (Mrs. Greenbird, X Factor Germany) picked “Al- ready Gone” as a potential single for the upcoming album, it was clear that this song had to be on the next Anshelle album. When the finished recording of the song roared through the monitors in Sky’s studio for the first time, there was no doubt about the magic in “Already Gone” and the band realized that this tune was something special. The combination of the typical Anshelle sound with fresh influences was exactly what Michèle and her band members had been looking for.
The Swiss pop band has constantly developed its sound without compromising its principles. With “Already Gone”, the five piece releases a strong track and a sample from the new album “Blink of an Eye” which whets the appetite for more.
