Francis Francis adds up to an elegant voice emphasized by synthesizers and lead by a sharp rythmic section (guitar, bass, drums). Due to its serious groove, warm harmony and almost graphic cuts, Francis Francis oscillates between animal energy and mechanical efficiency. The band draws their inspiration from various styles in order to create a unique sound full of surprises. On the menu: ethno-pop, electro-rock, progressive arrangements, orchestral songwriting, all intertwined into a playful yet quite bewildering whole.
Francis Francis saw the light of day in 2010 in Fribourg, born out of an encounter between five musicians: Yves Berset (guitars), Julien Chavaillaz (guitars), Noémie Délèze (vocals), Adrien Gaillard (drums) and Adrien Quartenoud (keyboards). Each of them having already a diverse musical background (Skirt, The Electric Plugs, L’Industrie du Disque), together as a band they took by storm well established concert venues (Fri-son, Bad Bonn, Usine à gaz, Amalgame…); all the while shaping and defining their artistic expression.
As a result of their creative efforts , Francis Francis were invited to open for bands like Nasser, Kavinsky, We Are Enfant Terrible, South Central and Citizens!; as well as to be part of well-known festivals such as Paléo in 2012. After 2 years of defining their sound, Francis Francis embarked on a new adventure of writing an album. « We Happy Few », their 8-titles opus, was released on the 23rd of August 2014 during For Noise Festival in Pully. By september their songs were picked up popular radio stations like Couleur3.
