The Korg MS-20 is patched and the Juno-60 has been synced with the TR909 modul. Bass and drums are on tape already. The illeists are in their element; they‘re dealing sounds.
Three musicians, a visual master and a chosmos full of ideas. As the illeists start dialoguing with the dancefloor, they are armed with beauties of the analogue synthesizer world, ambitious visions and creative uncomprimisingness.
„Monkey Dope“, scheduled for September 2011, is the second album of the illeist collective (Zurich, Biel)and truly one such ambitious vision. An online album that not only gets to the button of the digital abyss but makes it accessible. The online album contains twelve songs each going to be visually implemented in a multimedia „experience gallery“ and available as free download.
„Monkey Dope“ is colourfully shining electro-accustic triprock at its best. A staggering and tense monster you easily get addicted to. Shapely rethro-synth-layers, rocking new-wave-glory and an armada full of samples, bits and bites are being dealt with. Musical inspirations such as Young Gods, Souldwax, or Friendly Fires remain recognizable without being quoted directly.
It goes without saying that Monkey Dope will be dealt on stage as well. Thereby the club approved tracks are going to be punched with an elaborate visual show. An audio-visual cocktail that will definitely make you high.
