After almost 20 years of band history, around 500 concerts, thousands of kilometres and countless rest stop coupons, Musique en route, with Ariel Rossi on guitar, Stefanie Hess on double bass, Tom Tafel on accordion and percussion and Ronny Spiegel on violin, sets off on new adventures.
In recent years, the band has mainly focussed on arrangements of traditional music from the ‘Wild East’. Now, finally, the fifth album ‘Cadrage’ has been created, entirely from the band's own pen and in their own unique style. 10 carefully composed and skilfully arranged tracks fill the cracks of the new vinyl.
The new repertoire is folkloristic, the love of folk music has remained.
And yet musique en route playfully explores new stylistic levels from the fields of jazz, folk, classical, minimal and world music.
The pieces sound cinematic, pictorial and rich in associations, inviting us to curiously travel the world of the quartet.
Musique en route spans a wide range and yet remains unmistakably true to its sound.
