resume
PEPS,FRIZZ, B.FREE and Pascal
in the beginning of 1998, they started with public jams in a location called KAboutique. different gigs in different
instrumentations.
the names they used for the appearances were as coincidental as the improvisations themselves. performing under names such as P. PP. PPP. etc...
some day PEPES called his equipment "RANDOMKINGS", the name was born. a name which encompasses their approach to perfoming and so the general/comprehensive term for what we do was created and justified.
in the year 2000 PAPI & PAT are joining the band
by searching a idea for a visual concept they started to play to the film "METROPOLIS" from Fritz Lang [1926]
the concept
before a concert, the group comes together to contemplate on the type of event that will be taking place. during a very detailed soundcheck, the first beats are programmed. the spectrum is from spherical to house, depending upon the place of occurrence.
the randomkings are very keen on collaboration with relation to the wishes of the organizers vision regarding tempo and soundscape.
the stage
from various sources, it was on many occasions compared to the last supper. a long table, draped in a white cloth which extends down to the floor, group members behind, manipulating the gear which sits atop. behind them, a large canvas, used for the projected visuals.
visuals
several visual artists have in the past appeared with the randomkings, acting freely and independently of the music, to project their art with overhead projectors , beamers and super8 projection . together with the music, a new dimension of mood is produced. special events on request: the randomkings are eager to conform to an organizers requirements taking into consideration the type of event(fashion show, club happening), and musical tendencies (house, techno, electro, party) all on request.
