Biography
Ticket to the Moon was formed in 2003 by Andy (Guitars) and Danny (Drums). Both were
directly influenced by progressive music and bands such as Dream Theater, Pink Floyd,
Queen and Porcupine Tree. Things started to get serious when they were joined by Matt
(Keys) and Gys (Bass) in 2008. In 2012, Ticket to the Moon recorded their debut album
“Dilemma on Earth“. It encompassed everything from doomy sounding riffs, melodic metal to
more progressive rock and dream-like mood music that summed up almost 10 years of
evolution as a band. In 2015, the quartet recorded “Æ Sense of Life”, a blend of metal
influenced, atmospheric progressive rock. This was a more passionate and personal album as
the band wanted to incorporate things they feel, that matter and what made them who they
are. Short after the release of their second album Danny and later on Matt left the band for
personal reasons. It was in 2018 that Marco replaced Danny to make the band line-up as it is
known today. As a trio Ticket to the Moon decided to focus on the instrumental aspect of
their music. Subsequently they went for a full instrumental concept album they wrote between
2017 and 2020. The new opus was recorded during COVID basically completely at home and
released in September 2022 under the name “Elements”. Like on previous albums Ticket to
the Moon uses its musical formula combining epic soundscapes, hard hitting rhythmic
passages and catchy melodies. With the help of two Swiss recording studios, the trio’s music
got a broader and deeper timbre than ever before but keeping the DNA Ticket to the Moon is
known for. 3TM
