Biography
Raised as a 90ies kid between swiss and Italian culture Sara Di Caro finds comfort in not belonging and independence, getting lost and being found again. She knows how to pick the parts that suit her best always keen on reflecting what society is trying to sell her. As diverse as her personal sides, her musical influences are shaped by the strong soulful voices of Whitney Houston and Christina Aguilera as well as socially critical British New Wave and Trip-Hop bands like The Cure or Portishead.
Her musical journey leads from hairbrush-performances in her mother’s heels, to glorious churchchoirgigs and outraged ska coverband explosions in far away Panama.
Torn back and forth from the need to belong and total isolation alongside working for other musical project like «Magic Monday» or «Max Berend» she wrote her own songs.
Her debut EP «Last Cigarette» is an invitation to selfreflective dancing and comforting escapes into the world of feelings between addictions, insights and change. In collaboration with Bern based producer Melvyn Buss (Sirens of Lesbos) she manages to combine lightness and heaviness using surprising and contrasty elements.
Live she performes in an intimate and honest atmosphere as a duo with jazz guitarist Anatole Buccella (Trois Imaginaires), who feels at home with Grunge like she does, too.
Sara is not only using her voice to make music but also for speaking. Reading an audiobook or giving a voice and therefor also life to animated cartoon characters is yet another passion of hers to lead her behind a microphone.
Her world and music are full of contrasts which are equally in each others ways and supporting. Just like Whitney Houston would say: I’m every woman, it’s all in me
