Biography
The Studio Foce concert space welcomes live music and contributes to the realisation of the Foce project as an artistic hub. The facility offers a wide range of music by introducing new genres and situations.
For the second year running, the Events and Congresses Division is opening a competition for three creative residencies in the field of music lasting five days each at the Studio Foce, with the aim of encouraging and supporting musical creativity in the region, as well as promoting cultural mediation. The 2023/2024 competition is aimed at musicians from Italian-speaking Switzerland.
Through this project, the Events and Congress Division undertakes to support the creative work of artists or groups that are particularly innovative in the field of music in order to support the work of creating rehearsals and preparing a tour. The aim is to help them achieve greater artistic value through support for professionalisation, in terms of logistical, production and technical support. The winners of the competition will benefit from a 5-day creative residency (Sunday to Thursday) and an expense allowance of CHF 1,300.
The residency will end with a concert at Studio Foce with a performance whose engagement is to be considered included in the above-mentioned amount.
The artistic field concerned is current music - rock, blues, jazz, folk, singer-songwriter, rap/hiphop, electronic music, world music - and applicants must be creators and performers (no cover bands) from Italian-speaking Switzerland.
A special moment will be devoted to cultural mediation. The winners will have to be available for a meeting with primary/middle school children, performing some pieces and presenting their work.
