The Manchine Diaries:
Siamo un duo elctro-acustico di Lugano(Ti – Svizzera).
Stiamo attualmente promuovendo il nostro primo Ep
con esibizioni live, all'interno delle quali utilizziamo principalmente
beats, synth, pianoforte e basso elettrico.
Attualmente due brani del nostro Ep sono OnAir in radio (Radiotelevisione della Svizzera Italiana, Rete 3).
Su MX3, portale ufficiale della musica made in Switzerland, è possibile ascoltare diversi
nostri brani e visionare dei video tratti dalle nostre performances.

Due parole sul nostro duo:

Omar Enrico Bernasconi: conosciuto nel panorama elettronico internazionale come Re-count, nel
corso della sua carriera ha collaborato con artisti provenienti da Svizzera, Italia (tra cui Garbo),
Francia, Inghilterra, Australia, USA e Giappone. Tra i suoi ultimi lavori, spicca la collaborazione con
The Young Gods, storica formazione svizzera, pionieri della fusione tra metal ed electro-industrial, che hanno ispirato artisti del calibro di Trent Reznor per la creazione dei Nine Inch Nails, Mike Patton, Sepoltura, The Edge e David Bowie

Gioacchino Balistreri:
Compositore di stampo classico-minimalista, è un pianista multistrumentista.
Nell’agosto del 2006 è direttore di scena ne La Bohème di G. Puccini, regia del Maestro Luciano Pavarotti, presso la Valle dei Templi, ad Agrigento (Sicilia). Nel 2007 ha conseguito con lode la laurea specialistica in Alta Formazione Artistica e Musicale presso il Conservatorio V. Bellini (PA - IT). Successivamente ha conseguito il Master of Arts Supsi presso il Dipartimento di Formazione e Apprendimento a Locarno
(Ti- CH).
Sempre nel 2010 compie una Master Class di Composizione di Musica per Film presso l’Accademia Chigiana di Siena, con il
Maestro Luis Bacalov. Tra i suoi lavori spiccano le musiche originali per Emergency Exit, documentario pluripremiato
in numerosi festival internazionali, tra cui il Madrid IFF 2014 e il Foggia IFF 2014 (presieduto da Sergio Rubini).
La musica del film è stata premiata come miglior colonna sonora al festival Vicoli Corti 2015.
Ha inoltre composto le musiche per il corto animato Lorenzo Vacirca di Nico Bonomolo, vincitore del Taormina Film Festival 2009 e, dello stesso autore, FurHat, menzione speciale della giuria A.M.C. all’Arcipelago FF 2012 (Roma), in concorso a Stoccarda International FF 2013 e al Guanajuato International FF 2012 (Mexico, oscar° qualifyng competition).
In Svizzera si è esibito al Longlake Festival di Lugano, al Locarno Film Festival spazio RSI, al Teatro Sociale di Bellinzona, ecc...

The Manchine Diaries:
We are an electro-acustic duo from Lugano (Switzerland).
We are currently promoting our first Ep with live
performances, where we mostly use beats, synth, piano and electric bass.
Our first Ep contains 6 pieces, two of which are currently being played on national Swiss radio television (Radiotelevisione della Svizzera Italiana, Rete 3). Moreover, it is possible to listen to our music on MX3, the official portal of music made in Switzerland. In the same site you can find videos of our live performances (click the links on the top).

Few words about the musicians:

Omar Enrico Bernasconi: better known in the international electronic scene as 'Re-count', he has collaborated with national and international artists, including Italy (e.g. Garbo), France, England, Australia, USA and Japan. Among other collaborations, Omar has recently worked with The Young
Gods, a Swiss iconic band that pioneered the fusion of metal and electroindustrial sound and that inspired other 'gods' such as Trend Reznor for the creation of Nine Inch Nails, Mike Patton, Sepoltura, The Edge and David Bowie

Gioacchino Balistreri: Classical-minimalist composer, he is a pianist, multi-instrumentalist.
In August 2006 he worked as stage director in Puccini’s La Boheme, directed by Maestro Luciano Pavarotti, and performed in La Valle dei Templi (Agrigento, Sicily). In 2007 he obtained a master degree in Music and Arts from the Conservatorio V. Bellini in Palermo, graduating with full marks as a pianist. In 2010, he attended master-class training “Music composition for Film”, held by the Academy Award winner Maestro Luis Bacalov, at the Chigiana Accademy in Siena (Italy). In the
same year he completed a Master Of Arts from the Department of Education and Learning (Supsi-Dfa) in Locarno(Switzerland). He composed original music for the documentary Emergency Exit, award-winning documentary at numerous international festivals as the Madrid International Film Festival in 2014 (best foreign documentary), and the Foggia Film Festival in 2014 (chaired by the italian actor Sergio Rubini). The music of the film was awarded as best soundtrack at the festival Vicoli Corti in 2015. He also composed the original music for the animated short films Lorenzo Vacirca and Fur Hat, by Nico Bonomolo. The former won at the Taormina Film Festival in 2009 (Best Animation), the latter was awarded the A.M.C Special Jury Prize at the Archipelago FF (2012, Rome) and nominated for the Guanajuato International FF in 2012 (Mexico, oscar° qualifyng competition).Over the years, he has performed as a pianist, on several occasions, such as the Longlake Festival in Lugano, the Locarno Film Festival, the Social Theater in Bellinzona, etc.
