Biography
Feuerzeug celebrates its 10 years of existence in 2017. The Swiss quartet was born in 2007 following the reshuffle of several Power Grunge trios conducted since David Denega’s adolescence. Wanting to weigh down the overall band sound, he meets at a guitar shop’s corner Esteban von Wolfsburg. The riff machine works directly between the two new fellows. Thanks to wider influences, a sound and compositions typically Stoner come naturally to complete their new repertoire. In 2008 they released their first album "Drive Fast and Crash" and the critics of the alternative community are enthusiastic and appreciate the very direct side of their style:
Not an album for the timid, and not one for worshipers of the genre to miss. I haven't been kicked this hard in the nuts since the first time I heard Motorhead's "Tear Ya Down." I love it!

The band goes on the roads and has the opportunity to play in Switzerland, Spain, Italy, and Belgium.
Following these good experiences the decision is made to start a second album. The style is refined and compositions more lengthy and conceptual emerge. Funky grooves are integrated and long passages exploring Doom sounds are retained. Terry Pinhard is adopted as a new bass player and his subtle music approach makes all the difference. In May 2012 they finally released "Dead Wahines and Tsunamis" a gigantic album of 72 minutes separated in 2 acts. For critics who had enjoyed the first album, this second Opus is elevated to the rank of cult album. Nuclear Dog's named it the best album of the year 2012 above big names as Color Haze, Wo Fat and Orange Gobelin.
Man, the pressure to produce 13 songs of substance had to be somewhat daunting, but these guys seem to take it in stride. It’s a little like Messi or Kobe needing to bring their A game each time out because they know the opposition has brought theirs, but it turns out not to be a problem because the combination of skill and talent, honed from years of finger blistering work and an imagination of clarity and insight.
