Behind the “Cloud in a shell” project is a Swiss producer and songwriter from Gampel (VS) who consistently brings her musical vision to life entirely on her own. From the initial beats through songwriting to the final performance, the entire creative process is in her hands. The sound of Cloud in a shell defies traditional genre boundaries and falls within the realm of alternative rap. It is built on urban beats featuring distinctive lo-fi and tape drums, combined with layered, heavy synthesizers. Organic Latin percussion lends the productions rhythmic depth, while the use of Auto-Tune in the vocals and rap underscores the music’s modern, ethereal character. This distinctive aesthetic also reflects the Valais native’s close ties to the U.S. producer scene. The focus of the solo project is clearly on studio work. The current focus is on the release of her debut album “NOX” (Latin for “night”). Despite a consistent, unifying thread in the sound design, the album covers a broad spectrum of moods and themes—from love, intimacy, and sexuality to loneliness, loss, and carefree moments. “NOX” is the foundation of a promising Swiss newcomer project that combines international influences with an uncompromising DIY mentality.
