Biographie

Kev. P. also known as deejay Nowax,
is 21 years old and was born in
Berne (Switzerland).

After living many years in Biel/Bienne he moved to Herzogenbuchsee.

He came first time in contact with Drum & Bass in 2001.

At the beginning when he started to visit Drum & Bass parties,
he fell in love immediately with the rhythms, the breaks and the strong basslines of that wonderful new sound.

Nowax dances and listens to all subgenres of Drum & Bass.

He attends regular Drum & Bass Events in or around Switzerland.

Such as:
Unreal / Kings of the Jungle / Lost in Drum’n’Space / Darkside.. and many other one’s.

A few time ago he bought his first mixing software (Magix/Traktor).

Kev.P made first experience with getting mixing skills, even if it were electronic programs,
with which you can’t mix exactly but is was helping him to use the system of mixing.

Later in 2005 until 2006
Kev. P travelled to Kansas
(in the middle east of the united states) for learning and practising English.

At the beginning it was difficult for him to understand this
foreign language but I was getting better day by day.

Because there was no Drum & Bass music in Kansas,
he missed it so much and decided after a year to get back to Switzerland.

After travelling back he started to expand his music database of
Drum & Bass Interprets and tunes.

The database became everyday bigger.

As addicted junglist Kev. P decided in 2007 to leave the dance floor and started to practise playing Drum & Bass on vinyl.

He bought some Technics MK-II turntables and a mixer.

The basic knowledge of mixing he already had a bit from the mixing programs.

But of course there is still a big difference between mixing with a electronic program and mixing on vinyl.

So he stands in front of his turntables everyday.

Kev. P look after capabilities every month to get his favourite tunes on vinyl.

If you can imagine sometimes it’s hard to find the good stuff, because you can’t just download it from the internet.

For instance when you look after a vinyl which is sold out and never getting repressed, you’re up!

Maybe playing on Vinyl got it’s disadvantages but the handling when playing with vinyl is unbeatable!!

So I never gonna change my Vinyl Decks before Vinyl is DEAD! I hope that will never happen!

Nowax plays tunes from different producers.

Alix Perez / Lynx / Subterra & Lean / Bazil / Kasra / Zero T / Chase&Status / Calibre / D-Bridge SpectraSoul / Subwave / Survival / Icicle / Lenzman / Spirit / Break and many others.
