Fed with swiss milk and chocolate, born in England with egyptian-tinted blood, Jay Kay South built his own musical project after great band experiences with Kadebostany (Best Live Act 2015 @ Swiss Music Awards), Mosquito (three recordings, Montreux Jazz Festival and Paleo Festival gigs), Oxsa (recordings, gigs @ Electron Festival, Geneva’s Palladium and Geneva’s Arena), and a few more bands in which he stood as guitarist, lead guitarist, bassist, and back vocalist.
After such collaborations, inspiration calls Jay back on the central microphone to found its own universe, a blend of funk, rock, soul and folk music. Now that gathering talented musicians is done, and now that six songs have been recorded to create his debut EP album « Getting On My Nerves », Jay Kay South is ready to hit the stages again and breathe grooves and melodies into ears, hearts and brains and spread his point of view on humanity, good vibes and love.
