Macbeffi is a Lucerne-based dark pop duo.
Founded in 2023 on what was meant to be their first date, the band is made up of the couple Steffi Friis (singer, songwriter, actress & lyricist) and Michael Hirst (guitarist, singer, producer & sound engineer). What began as a personal connection quickly evolved into a shared artistic vision—raw, full of attitude, and unapologetically honest.
Drawing from a wide musical background, Macbeffi’s sound blends dark pop, industrial, cinematic, metal and drum & bass with creative sound design and catchy, melodic songwriting into a distinctive sonic identity. The result is music that hits hard but thinks deeper, driven by a strong focus on narrative lyricism. Every song is built like a scene—emotionally charged, visually evocative, and grounded in real experiences.
Since their formation, Macbeffi have written 16 original songs, channeling the fractures and pressure points of life into something transformative. Their first releases, “Clickflash” and “Eggshells,” arrived in 2024, setting the tone for a project unafraid to sit with discomfort and turn it into connection.
Their debut EP, Domesticated, is scheduled for release in spring 2026—a statement piece that will surely turn some heads.
