Slowlife is the solo project by Patrick Behrens, a songwriter from Basel Switzerland.
A few years ago, Patrick was part of the indie rock band In Golden Tears. The band stirred up the indie scene, toured across Europe, and played festivals such as Hurricane, Dockville, and Sziget. They said their farewell in 2014, but Patrick continued writing songs and launched his new project.
He taught himself to record at home and, after some experimentation, discovered the sound he didn’t know he was searching for. This led to a set of songs featured on his debut EP, Grey City, a nod to his former hometown, Hamburg.
Patrick’s music sits somewhere between singer-songwriter, lo-fi, dreampop, and indie folk. His songs invite you to get lost in them, to enjoy life’s little moments, and to look both back and forward with optimism.
Acoustic guitars and dreamy synths create a nostalgic atmosphere, allowing the listener to forget the world for a moment.
His self-released debut EP, Grey City, is available everywhere, including a limited yellow-orange marbled vinyl via Bandcamp.
The latest single, Dreaming, is introspective and ethereal. Its rippling Casio tones evoke bittersweet memories and the longing for past moments, capturing a feeling reminiscent of childhood or cherished objects.
