DJ since 1994, I take listeners on sonic journeys through Downtempo, Afro, Organic, Techno, Dark Techno, Hard Techno, Psytech and Psytrance.
I am Yann, a DJ and sound traveler for over 30 years.
My artistic approach unfolds through two complementary identities, Ajnayan and Sayko Yan, allowing me to explore different facets of electronic music depending on the context.
Ajnayan represents a deep, organic and conscious approach to music, blending Downtempo, Slow Tech, Afro, Organic and Melodic Techno. These soundscapes invite connection, inner movement and an expansion of perception.
Sayko Yan embodies a rawer and more powerful energy, moving through Techno, Dark Techno, Hard Techno, Psytech and Psytrance, where rhythmic intensity, tension and collective release ignite the dancefloor.
Born in Geneva, I lived there until the age of 14, then spent one year in California before living 27 years in Antibes, in the south of France. I am now based in Bern, Switzerland.
My DJ journey began in 1994 with the collective Prophets’ Tribe, and early on I shared stages with influential pioneers of electronic music such as Daft Punk, Dave Clarke, Adam Beyer, Colin Dale, Manu le Malin, Talamasca, among many others.
From 1998, I started organizing my own events, and in 2004 founded Any Gmatik, which became the largest psytrance event in south-east France. My artistic path then expanded internationally, from festivals such as Full Moon (Berlin) to tours across Asia and the South Pacific.
After a pause dedicated to other projects and to embracing fatherhood, I returned in 2019 to my musical roots, with the intention of bringing together depth, power and narrative in my sets.
Today, these two identities coexist fully within one coherent artistic vision, allowing me to adapt my musical expression to different spaces, audiences and intentions, while maintaining a personal and consistent approach to the sonic journey.
