releasing their album “energy is a wild flower” in 2007 for Blue Flame Rec., "aka profound" are one of those bands truly willing to take their music to the next level.
profoundly they are celebrating modern new goth rock with the penchant for artistic influences including a variety of different music style. luscious melodies flow together with grooves and broad soundscapes. "aka profound" philosophise about dreams and hidden desires, the craving for the night in all its beauty and entrance to the abyss of human souls fell in love. the evocation of unreal madness, sorrows, universal excesses into the infinity of thoughts.
PROFOUND was founded in the middle of the Ninety's and are from Switzerland. in February 1998 they released their first EP "sleep, profound", which received large public attention in all of Europe. to increase awareness, PROFOUND played a lot of concerts in Switzerland, Germany and Austria. some of the band members have also been guest musicians in other bands and projects, touring in Czech and Slovakian Republic.
on Valentine's Day 2001 their Single "tragedy" was released, followed by numerous concerts. they were supporting act for PARADISE LOST (UK), had several Interviews/Airplay in Radios and Interview/Live-Sequences on Swiss TV. several contributions on compilations: "new swiss waves" Switzerland/"atlantida vol. 13" Lithuania/"Italia vs. Svizzera" Italy. many positive Reviews from all around the world and a top review in the New Rock & Metal HAMMER (DE) said goodbye to a great year 2002.
chance-over 2003 going well into 2004 and 2005: new name – "aka profound" – new members, new songs, more rock and more energy! support of SUBWAY TO SALLY (Germany), SALTATIO MORTIS (Germany) and of the gothic batcave cult CINEMA STRANGE (USA). other events with MORBID ANGEL (USA) at the Transit Festival Geneva; again supporting act for PARADISE LOST (UK).
recording-session of the first album with Tommy Vetterli (Kreator/Coroner). 10 powerful songs including a Spanish coverversion of "entre 2 tierras" from HéROES DEL SILENCIO full of rock, metal and gothic.
