As a composer, producer and performer, Alex successfully straddles various musical worlds. He has composed a solo piano score for an artwork film at the Saatchi Gallery, received commissions from the Royal Opera House to compose two arias and written a theatre score for NITRO's Wedding Dance production. Channel 4's How to Look Good Naked ran his composition as a theme tune for four series and his writing for screen music has been used worldwide, including the Sandra Bullock film The Proposal, the drama series 24, The Discovery Channel and Sky Sports.
In 2010 he was commissioned by Harrogate International Festival to write his Concerto for Kora & Piano.
As a performer, Alex has played for Wynton Marsalis, Courtney Pine, Hugh Masakela, Cheo Feliciano and Jazz Jamaica.
Alex has seven albums out, the latest of which Mali Latino won a Best of 2010 accolade from Songlines Magazine.
Alex was born in the UK and was brought up in Britain, briefly in Sierra Leone followed by Austria and Switzerland and has also studied in the USA.
