AOTB is a Swiss band that blends djent and deathcore, sprinkled with influences from various other styles. The band, made up of five determined members, offers songs that combine technicality, groove, and power.
Everything comes together to bring out the beastly spirit in each member.
AOTB was formed in February 2016 in Delémont, around drummer Thomas Lachat and guitarist Lionel Gerber, who were quickly joined by bassist Nil Flückiger, guitarist Pablo Lagares, and singer Jean-Marc Kottelat. During the first six months, Lionel and Thomas quickly set to work composing the band's first songs, followed by Pablo, who went on to make a significant contribution. After writing the lyrics for the first song, the band chose to call themselves “Advent Of The Beast,” a name that perfectly represents what the band illustrates through its music. The band later decided to simplify its name by keeping the first four letters of “Advent Of The Beast”: AOTB.
The band saw its first line-up change in February 2017, following the arrival of Franck De Luca on vocals. At the beginning of 2019, AOTB began recording its first EP, ‘Mass Brainwashing’, at Greglerouxprod in Delémont. The four-track EP denounces societal issues such as war, the indoctrination of children in certain countries, and animal cruelty. Mass Brainwashing was released to the general public on 14 October 2019 and is available on all streaming platforms.
Franck De Luca, busy with his studies and other musical projects, left the
band in early 2021. The arrival of new singer Jonas Babey brought a new artistic dimension thanks to his powerful and technically skilled voice. The band decided to record and self-produce their first album, entitled No Return, accompanied by several music videos. The album was released on 15 February 2024 and the band followed it up with their first European tour alongside French bands Kanine and Hurakan.
During 2024, AOTB had the opportunity to perform in France, Luxembourg, Belgium and on many stages in German-speaking and French-speaking Switzerland.
Since its formation, AOTB has had the opportunity to share the stage with bands such as Ruins of Perception, Almost Human, Black Bomb A,
Alchemists, Dry and Shattered, Henriette B, Pollen, Pusboil, Uncircle, Mouche Miel, Adelon, Sons of Coherence, Eversis, Colpocleisis and many others.
AOTB is currently working on the production of a new five-track EP, which will be released in 2026.
