Biography

Walter Baco, pianist, composer, author, performer studied in Vienna (Francis Burt, Paul Kont) graduated in Composition für Audio Visual media. He has been awarded as "Composer of the month" by Austrians main broadcast company ORF.
Besides commissional compositions for TV, film and stage he also realises cooperations with companies, the media, communities and institutions and is engaged in social and peace activities. Several times Baco has already been working as Artist in Residence and is invited to play concerts or guest performances on various official occasions. He has published several books, audio books, music CDs and radio dramas. Baco founded „Orchesterwelt“ and chamber music series such as „Die rote Brille“ and improvisation events. He is a leading member of the board of „younion“, the trade union of composers in Austria, supporting musicians in their rights and creating concert opportunities.
