Baffo d'Oro from Bern are based somewhere between garage/post-punk and indie sounds. Lyrically, the sound is paired with a critical but humorous perspective on the world and the absurdities of life.
Coming from different band projects, guitarist and singer Michel, bassist Björn and guitarist Kaspar actually only wanted to write two songs for an alternative public viewing during the World Cup. But the vibe was right. From 2020, the four of them continued with drummer Orlando and new ideas.
Baffo d'Oro are inspired by bands from the late 70s and early 80s such as The Stooges, Joy Division, Gang of Four or Fugazi, but also by newer formations such as Idles, The Chats, Warmduscher, the Viagra Boys or Amyl and the Sniffers, from which they create their own mix. Baffo d'Oro have been releasing new music regularly since 2022. The new EP will be released in April 25.
Baffo d'Oro are also getting out of the band room more and more to play their songs live.
