Formed in 2003 at the foot of the Gibloux mountain (Fribourg, Switzerland), BANKRUPT was born from the meeting of Frédéric, Vladimir and Adrien, three fans of vintage rock and powerful riffs. Soon joined by Florian M., Xavier and Florian R., they built a tight-knit band that has shared the stage for over twenty years.
In their early days, still very young, they covered classics from AC/DC, Oasis, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones and Rage Against The Machine. Step by step, their passion led them to write their own songs — a mix of blues, funk and rock.
In 2007, BANKRUPT released its first album Out of Reach, followed in 2012 by the 4-track EP Rising in the Sky, showing a richer and more varied groove.
Since then, the band has never stopped playing — festivals, local stages, new creations — always driven by the same joy of sharing sincere, living music.
Today, BANKRUPT enters a new era with the arrival of Ju, singer, songwriter and lyricist.
With him, the group finds a fresh energy, blending modern sounds with authentic rock spirit. The lyrics gain depth, the arrangements strength, and the overall energy spontaneity.
Still faithful to their rock roots, the seven musicians move forward with passion, ready to write a new chapter without ever losing what defines them: a rock that is generous, groovy and true.
