Biography
Blondie Snitch is the solo-project of swiss, Basel- based musician Manuel Hildebrand. After playing in local indie and post-punk bands for years, and being frustrated about the stylistic constraints in these genres, he decided to go solo in 2016. Drawing from the music he listened to as a kid — early 2000s hip hop and RnB— he stepped towards a groovier and more soulful direction in his music. The result of this renewed focus became his self-released debut album „Swallowed“, which was released in late 2019.
In 2021 he released his first international
collaboration with french DJ and producer
Bambounou. The track, called „Up a While“, was
part of the french musicians’ EP Cascade and has since become a staple of countless sets by renowned Djs like Marcel Dettmann, Nina Kraviz and more. At the moment he’s preparing to release the six-track EP titled „Drift“. The new tape is characterized by another shift in sound, exchanging the moody grooves of his first album with a more energetic, both more guitar and electronics driven sound inspired by Shoegaze and Hyperpop artists.
