The realization that love does not always run as smoothly as the fairy tales from our childhood can be painful. Nevertheless, accepting this reality is crucial to moving forward. On her new single "Desilusionada", Cachita deals with the topic of heartbreak and emphasizes how important it is not to cling desperately to the fairytale happy ending. Accompanied by a driving trap-pop beat and self-deprecating lyrics, the Zurich native with cuban roots proclaims an lovesickness emergency, demystifies common childhood myths of prince charming and eternal love and questions manifested stereotypical gender role models - in keeping with the motto of her upcoming EP "Me partieron el cora, pero hoy hoy no se llora" which will be released this year.
From March 6, 2024, Cachita will also be part of this year's 5th season of "Sing meinen Song - das Schweizer Tauschkonzert" on Wednesday evenings on the TV channel 3+.
Cachita is a rapper and singer and currently one of the most interesting and sought-after up-and-coming national artists. She lives and was born in Switzerland, but her music is strongly influenced by her Cuban roots, which is why the 23-year-old sings and raps not only in Swiss German, but also in Spanish. Her sound is contradictory, sometimes dreamy, somewhat melancholy, but then also very cheerful. Regardless of which of the two languages she sings in, the singer impresses with her gentle voice and quick-witted lyrics. Cachita describes her music as a mix of Latin, Pop, RnB and Hip-Hop, with influences from Soul and Blues.
Cachita first came to public attention in 2019 when she won the young talent competition Band-It. Her debut single "Over" was released in 2020, initially completely independently without a label behind her. In 2021, Cachita came third in the MyCokeMusic- Soundcheck and was in the final of the M4Music Demotape Clinic in the Lyrics and Beats category in the same year. In 2022 and 2023, she caused a sensation at the annual meeting of the Swiss rap scene, the SRF Bounce Cypher, and relegated many male colleagues to the ranks with her skills, eloquence and a pointed attitude towards genre clichés and misogyny.
Female empowerment, self-acceptance and coming to terms with her origins are themes in her song lyrics that are very close to Cachita's heart and that she champions as a musician and artist. Since 2022, she has also been doing this as the presenter of her own radio show "Female Music Special" on SRF Virus, where she focuses on female artists for two hours every Wednesday.
