Singer since a child, Charly B is exposed to reggae at the age of 15, during one year spent in Jamaica as an exchange student. Being a French national, he sings in his mother tongue (French) and also in Jamaican. He sings alone, or with the Redhemption Sound (Sound system composed of 3 singers : DJ Babakar, Wakad, Radymous and Systaya), or with his own band « Charly B & the Officials ».(COMPOSED BY 6 MUSICIANS)
October 2002 – WINNER OF THE FIRST PRICE FOR BEST SINGER/SINGJAY OF GENEVA (Reggae contest organized BY DJ Postman)
End 2002/2003 – 3 month tour in France with Redhemption Sound, tour which ends at the Jamaican Sunrise Festival (Bagnole-sur-Cèze, France).
Beginning 2004 – Studio Recordings. June 2004 – 2 albums RELEASED : “REALITY” (11 TITLES) and “MORE REALITY” (12 TITLES) - [abstracts on www.charlyb.com]
2005 – Recording of a featuring : “Bruk out”, with the jamaican singer Zumjay and of “La plus belle femme” whose video clip plays on TVM3 (cabled TV). June 2005 – WINNER OF THE FIRST PRIZE FOR BEST SINGER/SINGJAY FOR SWITZERLAND (Reggae Swiss Singjay Contest - Giddeon Production) August 2005 – Recordings in Jamaica for his next album, with the musicians of Black Uhuru : (Freddy Fat String : Guitar / Barry O’ Hare on keyboard). 2 songs produced by Vision I Production (Jamaican 45T Production) November 2005 – First part of French singer Michel Fugain for the opening concert of the Competition “Star de demain” in Geneva (Palexpo)
January 2006 – Album “Family Affair” is issued, album produced by Redhemption Sound Production. Album featuring Wakad Don Jahbazz, singer from Martinica. As soon as CD out, promoting tour in France and Switzerland with RedHemption Sound. End 2006 – Preparing an album which will contain several featurings, and whose productions will be international (Swiss, French, Canadian and Jamaican.). That album will be in Jamaican/English for an International public. Another project is underway for the production of an album in French for a French speaking public.
