Coal Black Horses is a jura swiss one man band of americana music. A project run by Reverend R. Gogniat on voice, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, steel guitar, 12 string guitar and stompbox.
Influenced by Johnny Cash, Calvin Russell, Robert Johnson, The Gun Club and Reverend Beat Man to name a few, the music of Coal Black Horses browse between country, blues and folk. Back to the roots !
A tribute to the Free Mountains Horses and our ancestors, the lyrics talk about the ground, the one you grown, the one you love. The old time workers like the peasant watchmakers, the blacksmiths, the craftsmens. To the nature lovers, mushrooms pickers and fishermen who drag the trout along the Deep Black River.
Behind the Free Mountains Bone Dry Wall who run the Little Red Train, the rangelands are the main source of inspiration of Coal Black Horses. Here reign an unspoiled nature, wild and rebel, like the character of the people who live here.
