Biography
If you want to bring it down to a common denominator it would be “music”. The activities of Swiss sound artist Cyrill Lim range from sound installations and performances to compositions in the contemporary music scene, from live recordings of classical music to pop productions and from playing electric guitar in a trash band to writing Folksongs.
The latter – being more of a hobby – gained more center stage when his few sparsely spread and poorly home recorded songs caught the attention of the Berlin-based indie label erdkugel recordings which offered him a record deal.
Overtaken by this unexpected offer, he initially rejected the deal. But something made him change his mind and a couple of weeks later the (rather long) journey – accompanied by good friends and former bandmates – accumulated in the October 2015 release of his debut album: The LP "" (untitled), physically only available as a vinyl. Since digital distribution systems do not allow an untitled work, the album was digitally published in form of two EPs (side A and side B of the vinyl) titled "☼" and "☃".
New releases followed in 2019 and 2020, including collaborations with Serbian singer and author Ana Avramov.
