Dänu Siegrist is considered one of the pioneers of Swiss dialect song. His musical career began in the early 1970s in Bern. With Span and Polo Hofer’s Schmetterding, he played a key role in making dialect music “socially acceptable” and bringing it to the attention of critics, the media, and the wider public.
Between 1987 and 2000, he released five CDs with the Dänu Siegrist Band. In the new millennium, he established himself as a solo artist with the albums “Chansons Urban” (2014) and “Rohschtoff” (2021). In 2024, “Länggass,” produced by Hank Shizzoe, was released. With “Schtärn” (2026), Dänu Siegrist presents his most recent work.
On stage, he proves to be a versatile artist: performing his own songs as well as selected covers from a long career. A powerful Bernese statement—delivered by a seasoned singer, guitarist, and songwriter.
