DJ $B (DJ SB) is a 20-year-old vinyl selector, turntablist, and award-winning maker based between Aargau and Zurich, Switzerland. Rooted deep in 90s boom-bap, underground hip-hop, and soulful R&B, his sound combines sharp technical skill with raw analog culture.
Alongside high-energy battle sets across Switzerland, he hosts his own monthly live show, "The Realness," on Jam On Radio (every first Friday, 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM CET). The broadcast is a tribute to hip-hop craftsmanship, featuring cross-genre selections, technical turntablism routines, the Sample Time segment (flipping original source material against hip-hop classics), and Back to the Wax—an all-vinyl showcase highlighting crate-dug rarities and underground deep cuts.
His technical dedication extends straight from the turntables to the soldering iron. In 2026, he engineered a custom analog DIY lo-fi sampler, earning the top Gold distinction ("Outstanding") at the Swiss Youth in Science (Schweizer Jugend forscht) national competition and an official selection to represent Switzerland at the international MOSTRATEC science fair in Brazil. Whether on the airwaves, behind the wheels of steel, or in the lab, the focus remains pure: dedication to the craft and culture.
