Dominique Joyce is an artist whose life has always been shaped by music. Her musical inspirations include Pink Floyd, Nina Simone, Tina Turner, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Jennifer Hudson, Whitney Houston, Janis Joplin, Adele and Beth Hart. Classical music and operas, in particular Puccini's "Tosca" and "Madame Butterfly", and Verdi's "La Traviata", have had a profound influence on her musical sensibility.
Born on August 8, 1974 in Albi, France, Dominique Joyce has lived in Switzerland for the past 12 years, and in the Valais region for the past 3 years.
Her passion for singing emerged when she began taking harmonica lessons some ten years ago at Bonny B in Fribourg. Although she didn't initially plan to perform in public, she discovered an unsuspected passion thanks to her singing lessons.
Already having an affinity with the stage thanks to her experience as an actress and director in the theater, Dominique now renews her love for the stage by expressing her music and voice. She finds this art form vast and unfathomable, an inexhaustible source of wonder.
Musical diversity is also part of Dominique's universe. She enjoys a variety of musical styles, from French chanson to country, world music, reggae and Creole music. Traditional songs from Martinique and Reunion Island hold a special place in her heart because of her family origins.
As lead singer of the rock and blues band OLD BOX, Dominique has had the opportunity to perform on a number of stages, including the Kassnoisette in Grenchen, Valais, the Sierre town hall for the Girò d'Italie, as well as on the online channel "tohu-Bohu", which provides a platform for young bands to perform live.
Apart from music, Dominique enjoys motorcycling. Her philosophy of life is guided by infinite love and the desire to spread good around her.
