Biography
Native to the small Caribbean island of Puerto Rico, Don Pinguino started playing the guitar and composing his first melancholic songs at the age of 15. He drew his inspiration from the peaceful and at times claustrophobic isolation of a small east coast town, where he was influenced by the merging cultures of his Spanish-American heritage. Son to a Puertorican father and Spanish mother, he was bombarded by Latin American, Spanish, and North American music. At the age of 18 Don Pinguino winglessly migrated to New York City, where he started performing at different venues, such as The Nuyorican Poet´s Café, Apocalypse Lounge, and various universities. After New York, Don Pinguino moved to Spain, living and playing in venues all over Madrid, Barcelona, and Sevilla. Don Pinguino now resides in Lausanne, captivated by its beauty and its people, he plans to engage in various collaborations with local artists.
