Dr. Daydown is an up-and-coming rock band from the Basel region (Switzerland) that came together under unusual circumstances during the Corona pandemic. The band was founded by three long-time friends and musicians, singer and bassist Udo Mayer, guitarist Philipp Moser and drummer Christian Waldner.
All of them already had experience from other bands, and together they decided to start something new during the lockdown. They used this time to shape their musical vision and find their identity as a band.
When the restrictions were relaxed and it was possible to go back into the studio, Dr. Daydown recorded their first album «Painting A Picture».
With their powerful sound, catchy melodies and haunting lyrics, Dr. Daydown quickly made a name for themselves and gained a loyal fan base. They are an example of how creativity and cohesion can thrive even in difficult times like the Corona pandemic.
Thanks to the creativity found, 10 new songs for another album were created within a very short time. Due to the attention that the first album received, Dr. Daydown got the opportunity to record the second album in a professional studio. This led to occasional contact with other, partly professional musicians, who contributed to the recordings of the second album "Sad Songs For Julie".
The recordings were completed at the beginning of 2024 and Dr. Daydown plans to perform her songs at various concerts and live events.
