„East Sister turned my head, always sounding both edgy and sweet at the same time. The two singers on guitar and synths write songs that are often smooth, yet always unconventional, surprising you with experimental twists. Satisfying sounds are also coming from a bassist with a faible for old machines which he also shares with their drummer who is incredibly busy in the most tasteful way. Which means that even if you don’t understand anything about music it’s great to just watch them operate mysterious gadgets and throw around kitchen towels and little chains with bells. How can they sound so nonchalantly held together, jumping effortlessly from song to ecstatic improv-explosions while underneath it’s always tightly grooving, as if they’re secretly communicating or following an underlying code? I hope I’ll never find out.“
