‘Echoes of the Dark’ is a music project from the pop-rock genre. After several years of band experience, Markus has increasingly focused on songwriting since the turn of the millennium. For several years, he worked with various musicians in his own home studio. A few years ago, he mainly worked on his songs with the singer Sophie and the producer Marco, with whom the albums ‘Secret Tales’ and ‘not available’ were created. After two songs with singer Toby, the young singer Samira was recruited for the rockier album ‘visitors’. This marked the beginning of a new era for ‘Echoes of the Dark’. New songs arranged in a modern, calm pop style will be released in 2025.
As a songwriter, Markus is the pulse of ‘Echoes of the Dark’. Characterized by his love and humility towards music and his flair for lyrics and language, he gives free rein to his imagination. His great love of music and his musical creativity have accompanied Markus from an early age. He learnt to play the drums in an orchestra when he was around 8 years old. At the age of 15, he bought his first synthesizer and programmed his first instrumental songs. Around the turn of the millennium, Markus gained band experience in various formations. Since their dissolution, Markus has been composing and arranging songs in various projects and sound directions in his home studio.
Samira is the female voice in ‘Echoes of the Dark’. Singing has been a basic need for Samira from an early age, so she joined a children's choir at the age of four, where she remained for almost ten years. Samira also began taking singing lessons and writing her own songs. Samira says that music is her innermost emotional world and that she cannot imagine life without singing. Her soulful and young voice has been a valuable asset for ‘Echoes of the Dark’ since the rock project ‘visitors’ and for the new pop songs.
Marco is the musical advisor for the sound of the songs on ‘Echoes of the Dark’. With his flair for music and his ear for subtle nuances, Marco provides support when mixing or arranging instrumental parts. Marco has been producing his own songs in his home studio at the highest quality level for a long time. His knowledge and skills are very valuable for ‘Echoes of the Dark’. The intensive collaboration resulted in a close friendship that continues to this day and characterizes the work on joint projects.
