Electric Puma is the new incarnation of the artist Martinez — an instinctive turn. After years performing as Martinez, and alongside her ongoing project The Woohoo (with Zep), she now moves forward under a unique identity, freer, more vibrant, more electric.
Self-taught and based in Geneva, she shapes the core of this new sonic territory herself: composing, arranging, recording, and mixing entirely in immersion at home. She is occasionally joined by a few long-time collaborators — Joe Baamil, Zep, and Mark Daumail / Cocoon — sharing the pleasure of working together.
Electric Puma’s universe blends indie pop, modern folk, organic textures, and ‘80s-inspired synths. A crepuscular, ever-shifting, almost chameleonic atmosphere.
Before this evolution, Martinez built her path through several collaborations and albums, including the EP Off The Shore created with Yvan Bing. In 2018, they were invited by Robert Smith (The Cure) to the Meltdown Festival in London, counted among his new favorite bands of the year. She then released the album The Road, co-produced with Joe Baamil.
Electric Puma marks a new stage: a more direct, instinctive music, nourished by influences ranging from Prince, David Bowie to Marvin Gaye — artists she grew up with thanks to her mother’s passion for Soul — and extending to contemporary indie pop and bright, electronic textures.
A signature where the organic meets the electronic, where softness coexists with intensity.
