Biography
Eleonora Simeone, 15-02-1983
E.S. has been moving in the musical environment since she was 8 years old, as a singer in some choral groups for white voices. In 1994 she started studying opera vocal technique with Ms. Silvana Moyso and, in 1997 she starter attending jazz singing at the “Centro Jazz Torino”, in Turin (northern Italy). In 2001, with the pianist Alessandro Fadinii, she entered “Talens”, an Italian national jazz competition held in Pezzolo Valle Uzzone, where they placed first. In 2002 she entered the Italian jazz festival “Int.Jazz Festival di Moncalieri”. Now she studies jazz singing and vocal technique with Ms. Francesca Oliveri, in Milan, (www.francescaoliveri.com) who she collaborated with, in December 2005 in the recording with the gospel choir “Deep River Choir”, conducted by Ms. Oliveri herself and the concert for charity “La Musica per la Vita”, held in Volpiano (Turin) on November, 26 th 2006. Since 2004 she’s been working with the Swing sextet “Quelli che lo Swing” who she entered many concerts and festivals with, all over Italy, such as “Stresa Jazz 2008” She’s been working with the same sextet in the creations and management of some important theatre shows, such as “Dove finisce l’Arcobaleno” (Where the rainbow ends), which is a recital based on the history of black people and “That’s Amore: Jazz e Lirica insieme per la musica” (That’s Amore: Jazz and Opera together for the Music). The “Eleonora Simeone Jazz Quartet” played during the “Chess International Olympics 2006” held in the center of Turin and during “Cioccolatò” in 2007 and 2008.
In July 2008 she attended the “Berklee College of Music” workshop, in Perugia.
In September 2008 she played with Mr. Gianni Basso and the “Forno Jazz Orchestra” in the “Concerti in Fabbrica” season.
She’s been working as singer and pianist in the Swiss five stars hotels such as Carlton in St. Moritz, Eden Roc in Ascona, Palace in Losanne and Les Sources des Alpes in Leukerbad since 2008 and in the “Casino de la Vallée”, in St. Vincent, since 2004.
In October 2009, she will work together with Mr. Diego Borotti, Mr. Daniele Tione, Mr. Dino Contenti and Mr. Gigi Biolcati for the record musical project of jazz unpublished plays.
She’s been studying classical piano since she was 10. She took many classical competitions, such as “Concorso Internazionale della citta’ di Stresa”. In 1997 she starter attending Ms. Careggio class and in 2001 she took part to the workshop held by Mr. Massimiliano Damerini, in the “Circolo degli Artisti”, in Turin. In 2003 she passes the Fifth-year-exam at the Brescia Conservatory.
Her dream: to sing and play the piano in a show where a jazz band and a string orchestra play together the same plays.
