Biography

The Berlin and Basel based duo ELFRID THE THIRD & IVAN EYES consists of poet, rapper and performer Norwin Tharayil and sound artist Jascha Ivan Dormann. After a decade long friendship, in 2019 the two started their musical collaboration which has culminated in an album titled A CASE OF PARANOIA. It is set to be released in May 2023. With versatile vocal performances and often cinematic productions, ELFRID & IVAN's debut album A CASE OF PARANOIA manages to blend their eclectic influences (Burial, Earl Sweatshirt, Vangelis, Shabazz Palaces, David Bowie and more) into an highly accessible aesthetic that references electronic music, RnB and rap with precise minimalist gestures. At the same time, A CASE OF PARANOIA is also a deeply personal work, a collection of vulnerable attempts to preserve an inner resistance - and thus to preserve oneself.
