“Where did everybody go? Don't you need me anymore?” sings Éna Vera on her debut single, and this raw intimacy hits all the right notes upon listening. Her music draws inspiration from indie-pop/folk, lyrical jazz, singer-songwriter and Uruguayan influences. Though Éna Vera’s sound doesn’t fit into a single genre, it consistently shares certain qualities: intimate, unpolished, honest, and full of longing – always centered on the vulnerability of her voice and her bilingual lyrics, written in both English and Spanish. To her, Éna Vera is more than just a persona; it’s a journey, a diary and a playground – free from expectations.
The Swiss-Uruguayan singer and guitarist takes on multiple roles composing, writing, producing and mixing her own work – collaborating closely with musician friends along the way. After releasing five singles she is now set to drop her self-made debut album ¿Quién Sos? (meaning Who are you?) on September 27th, 2024.
Despite only launching in the summer of 2023, Éna Vera has already performed at festivals like m4music or Musig ide Altstadt Aarau and has made a mark with her raw, honest sound. With her Spring and Summer tour complete, she is set to continue her release tour through the fall, also playing support shows for James Gruntz at Bierhübeli Bern or for the Canadian artist Kaia Kater at Sedel Lucerne.
