ERANAËS began in April 2022 with recording "After The Rain," where I got to work with vocalist Margarita Monet and keyboard legend Derek Sherinian. That track mixed melodic rock with progressive metal elements, and having musicians of that caliber involved really set the tone for what ERANAËS could become. It was ambitious, maybe a bit over-the-top, and exactly the kind of collaboration that gets you excited about making music.
It is basically my way of making the music I want to hear. It's rooted in melodic hard rock because that's what I love, but it's really about not being limited by what you're "supposed" to sound like. Sometimes that means bringing in amazing guest musicians who can take a song places you never imagined. Sometimes it means taking one song and creating three completely different versions because each one tells the story in its own way.
The whole idea is that each release can be a totally new adventure. "After The Rain" was this melodic progressive metal journey, "Living For The Night" became a celebration of disco and glam rock excess. The next song could go somewhere completely different, and that's the point. It's about collaboration, too. Working with different musicians means every project brings new perspectives and ideas. You never know what's going to happen when you put the right people in a room together, and those unexpected moments are often where the best music comes from. Each release is a new experiment. Some work better than others, but that's part of the process. It's about pushing boundaries, having fun with music again, and not taking yourself so seriously that you forget why you started making music in the first place.
