Eric Daniell makes Swiss German pop that blends pop-rock and funk. The Zurich artist launched his music project in 2026 with his debut single, “Michelle”. The song about a brief summer romance has already received airplay on Swiss radio stations including Kanal K, RaBe, Radio Grenzenlos and Radio 4TNG.
His second single, “Gheim”, followed on 30 October. The funk-infused pop song explores a situationship in which one person wants more while the other wants to keep things casual. Closeness, yes. Commitment, less so.
Both singles were recorded at Powerplay Studios in Maur with producer Cyrill Camenzind and musicians Marvin Trummer, Marco Blöchlinger and Martin Fischer. Mixing and mastering were handled by Reto Muggli.
Inspired by Tom Odell, Keane and Coldplay, Eric writes his songs at the piano, which he has played since the age of six. As a singer, however, he kept his voice to himself for years. It was only with the release of “Michelle” that those around him really heard him sing. Some could hardly believe it was his own voice.
With two singles released, Eric Daniell is now working on more songs in Swiss German.
