The journey begins in 2009, as the band was still bearing the name of Iron Shield. That crowd of friends – made up of Cyril, Franck, Theo, Greg and Johann – decides to start again with more seriousness and motivation his previous band. Although staying in melodic metal music, the band doesn't exactly know in which direction to go, and that's why the riffs are very varied. On the road, a keyboardist (Yann) comes to complete the group and a guitarist (Théo) will be replaced by Nico. With the arrival of the keyboard, the melody becomes more present and the band decides to launch itself in folk metal music, with an ambience always as festiver and more dancing as heavy and mighty. It's only after the departure of Cyril that the band will corner violently, deciding to add a death/scream singing with Franck at the vocals and guitar, that makes the sound becomes darker. Eventually, the crowd has reached his current line-up and is ready to take the road again, looking for some concerts. It's at that moment, beginning of 2010 that the band changes its name for Eternal Winds. Later in the year, the musicians decide to record an auto-produced 5 track demo, serving them as a business card for gigs in Switzerland. That's therefore with motivation and determinations that Eternal Winds thrust itself to the conquest of the Swiss folk metal scene…
