Etna ROM is the solo music project of artist Andrea Rickhaus.
As an extension of her artistic practice, Etna ROM marks a shift from the visual to the musical – into a space that allows her to explore her intuition and delve deeper.
In doing so, she moves between external and internal landscapes, between different times, textures, and tempos. Her music inhabits these in-between spaces, where contradictions, shifts, and ambivalences can coexist.
Terra Blu (Inner City) is Etna ROM's debut EP: eight tracks formed from a stay in Athens, where outer movement and inner rhythm began to sediment into one another. A gentle voice hovers over devotional drones, interrupted by pulsing field recordings. The vocals navigate between song, breath and language. Ethereal sequences give way to eroded rhythms. Sonic landscapes drift into dark waves. Languages intermingle, boundaries dissolve. What takes shape erodes again – and time loses its direction.
